I've had my silky terrior Oliver, on the raw diet since I got him through Sue about 3 years ago. Since it's a long way to her place for me, I got lazy one winter and decided to try (expensive, organic, grain-free) kibble. No more treks out to 'god's country' just for the damn dog food.....

Well, to make a long story short(er); after 3 months, 3 vet visits, a prescribed 'gastro diet' then 'allergy diet' there was still no relief from the diahrrea. So I decided to try the raw diet again (uhhh....hel-lo). The second poop after restarting the raw food was half diahrrea and half lovely, firm and brown (listen, after 3 months of diahrrea, I was ecstatic) poop. We haven't looked back since.

But my newest discovery is that if I buy the food fresh, in bulk and package it myself in flat freezer bags, it takes up about 1/2 the space in my freezer that the prepackaged 1lb. containers did. This leaves more space for MY food - all the fruits and vegs I'm freezing this summer. Now, maybe I can eat as well as my dog does. Makes me happy - thanks Sue!!
