Everything is going just GREAT!
Every morning I am greeted with a little happy dance followed by a “wooo-wooo-woooooooo”. She is so sweet! She is very respectful towards Sydney (letting her go inside/outside first, start eating first etc. etc.) and tries to give her a quick lick of approval every now and then. Most of the hair on her tail has grown back as well as the hair on her tummy. After a good grooming session, her skin seems to be less dry and her coat is really shiny. I have both of them eating Orijens plus veggies, hemp/omega oil and acidophillis. So far so good
.
.She is excellent off-leash and comes when called. For the most part, she listens to me more than Sydney does!! My challenge will be with squirrels. If she is not on leash she would happily bolt so unless we are in a “no traffic” area, she remains on leash outside. I have been practising the Caesar Millan approach and she has been great on-leash.
What more can I say? She is an absolute joy and we feel so lucky to have found her. She is my shadow right now but I’m sure with time, she will feel more secure. She will stare at you so intensely with those gorgeous amber eyes as if sending you telepathic messages. It’s obvious that she just wants to be loved and cared for. Sue, I don’t sleep with my dogs – I never have BUT for the past two mornings I have woken up with a warm body near my feet! She curls up so small and doesn’t move so I didn’t know she was there. As soon as she sees I’m awake she wriggles up to me to say good morning.
She loves the park across the road and is meeting lots of new friends. It’s so nice to watch her chase and play. I swear she is smiling the whole time! She likes car rides and sprawling across the entire back seat while poor Sydney manages to squeeze in some room. I have a sort-of bench thingy across the back so there is more room for them and they can’t fly off the seat, onto the floor. We went apple picking this past Friday and both she and Sydney helped themselves and enjoyed a feast!
Anyway, things are really good and Ms. sweet Biscuit is happy and healthy. Please tell Vivian that she did a fantastic job fostering her and there will always be a place in Biscuit’s heart for her! If she would like to come and visit her when I come up, she is more than welcome to!
Take care,
Amelia, Wendy, Sydney and sweet Biscuit
